WHAT SETS US APART

At Summit Spine & Therapy we provide the highest level of chiropractic and rehabilitation for spine and joint care.  Our team is set apart from other chiropractic and physical therapy offices because we take the time to seek out the subtle underlying muscular imbalances that are often responsible for pain and dysfunction.  These weak links or “energy leaks” can present as pain or hinder performance in athletes.  Our team also empowers the patient by providing home exercises that deal directly with the body’s imbalances.  This allows the patient to continue rehabilitation in between appointments and well after the treatment plan is over.  By making the patient a part of their own rehab, it creates a team like relationship between the patient and the treating chiropractic physician.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’re thrilled that you are considering visiting us at Summit Spine & Therapy. We know it can be a little nerve wracking to walk into a new office not knowing what to expect. Here is a quick breakdown of what your visits and a typical treatment plan will include.

Your First Visit: Paperwork/History/Exam

You can expect to be at the office for about an hour on your first visit.  If you have not already printed off and completed your intake paperwork, please plan on being at the office 15 minutes early in order to do so.

You will be brought back to our exam room where you will be asked some additional questions pertaining to your daily life functions and/or your current condition.  From there your Chiropractor will come in to make sure that they fully understand your condition so that they can begin their series of exams.

Chronic Pain is usually due to day to day micro trauma caused by subtle muscular imbalances that place stress on the spine and joints.  That is why day one is geared towards a very detailed exam.  Treatment is rarely given on your first visit.  By not doing so it allows your Doctor to sit down, review your case and their findings, and create a specific treatment plan that can help correct your problem and not just cover up the symptoms.

In the event of Acute Pain, your Doctor will be able to provide some type of treatment to relieve pain on this first visit to help you get some relief.  Once the pain has decreased, your Doctor will address your underlying functional needs.

Your Second Visit: Report of Findings/1st Treatment

On your second visit you can expect to be in our office anywhere from 30-45 minutes.  Your Doctor will discuss his/her findings and provide treatment.  Any condition specific exercises/stretches will be given along with any necessary therapy.  The treatment plan that is created for you will be discussed and any questions will be answered.  At Summit Spine & Therapy we want to make sure that our patients are fully educated on what our goals are for your health.  We like to send our patients home with information that explains our treatment options and the importance of our phases of care.  At that time all appointments for your first phase of care should be scheduled in order to insure you get in at your best availability during this vital time in your treatment plan.

Additional Visits:  Continuing Treatments

From here on out your treatment will vary based on what your Doctor deems necessary.  Most visits consist of therapy tables, area specific massage/myofascial release, stretching/exercising, and chiropractic adjustments.  The order of these therapies will vary depending on your needs.  The average appointment time is 15-30 minutes.

Re-Evaluation: 8th Visit

After your initial exam and six consecutive treatments, your Doctor will perform a re-evaluation.  At this appointment you can expect to be at the office anywhere from 30-45 minutes.  Your Doctor will take your initial exam and re-evaluate you on all of your originally failed test.  From there a new treatment plan will be created and frequency in visits will typically
